This was recorded by the Portsmouth Sinfonia in an experiment where all the members of the orchestra would swap instruments with each other and attempt to play them to the best of their ability.
favorite things about this
- literally all the brass starts to get the hang of it and then the crescendos happen and everyone is like FUCK FUCK FUCK??? FUCK. JUST. BLOW RLY HARD.
- the strings are lazy but also the same. like u can tell a lot of the ppl w/ the stringed instruments may already basically know how to play stringed instruments. like there’s definitely a section at the beginning where you hear a good portion going “oh yeah this is like. a smaller/bigger version of what i do.”
- all you hear of any woodwinds is just “pffffttt??? pFFFTTTT???? PFFFFFTTTT I SAID PFFFFTTTT!!!!!” bc woodwinds are fucking HARD and you hear after like the first crescendo half of them just give up. they give up. they’re done. fuck this it tastes weird and my lips hurt.
- that trumpet. that person is fucking TRYING man they fucking GOT this. they may not have figured out notes but they figured out LOUD and they GOT this.
I JUST DIED
I SEARCHED THIS POST FOR AGES OH MY GOD
the fact that people have donated over $8000+ to a MURDERER who is already on PAID LEAVE fucking disgusts and terrifies me
Stop white people
"Support Officer Darren Wilson" = "I’m a racist asshole who wants to give a nice big bonus to the guy who killed an unarmed black kid because that’s what I secretly wish I could do".
Fuck literally every person who donated even a penny.

Bryan and I were guests on the Nerdist Writer’s Panel podcast with Ben Blacker. We talked about the creation of the show, the move to digital, and even about the Movie That Shall Not Be Named. Ben does a great job with the podcast and has had some big names on in the past, like Matthew Weiner, Damon Lindelof, and Vince Gilligan, so I was honored to be one of his guests!
I think this is the best interview ever done with Mike and Bryan and I would highly recommend listening to it.
This is basically the first time ever Mike ad Bryan candidly talk about the movie which Bryan calls a negative experience and says they were technically involved it, but their involvement had no tangible effect.
A random note of new information was that it was Aaron Ehasz’s idea to make Zuko “get worse before he got better” (Zuko’s Book 2 story arc).
They also talk about the move to digital, most notably saying that it wasn’t the Spanish leak that caused Nick to premiere Book 3 only a week after announcing it, it was a factor that they can’t really discuss. But they do say that if Nick didn’t air Book 3 right then, they would have to have waited until next year to air it. Bryan also says he was told initially the Spanish leak was an accident on the Mexican Nick affiliate, but then corrected that it was stolen from their servers. This isn’t true and I hope Bryan can know that what he was told the first time is true (if you googled “Book 2 Episode 3 NickMundo” during the time when the leak was up, it linked to the Book 3 episodes, so definitely not a server hack).
Mike and Bryan also say that the dark content of Book 3 was definitely not the reason for the digital switch and that the people making that decision probably hadn’t even seen “Long Live the Queen”.
What really bothers me about the whole thing is Goku actually had a good reason to be away from Gohan each time. Dead, recovering from Vegeta, recovering from Freeza and learning amazing new technique that could change everything, and dead (and wanting Earth to not be targeted). Only when he left with Uub was he kind of a deadbeat, and Gohan was a grownass man with a family by then.
Honestly, it doesn’t even bother me so much when people joke about Goku’s absence and apathy (like his departure with Uub) but it has no right to be expressed in legit character analyses. Gohan clearly adores his father and the Dragon World has different standards than our own, which I think people fail to realize. This shit tends to stem from the terrible misunderstandings the general fandom has of Gohan and Goku’s characters.
